It’s All About Accountability

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Temptation, sometimes it completely stares you in the face. You aren’t sure what
to do and you just wish you could for once not give in. You may wonder “How can
I keep from giving into temptation, especially giving in to the same sin over
and over again?”

When I was a teenager, I often gave in to the same sins
over and over again. Lying to my parents just got easier and easier as I did it.
One little white lie led to another until there was no way I could untangle the
web I had woven.

The one thing that saved me in high school from
continuing to repeat the same sins was having good friends that I could trust
and ones that would hold me accountable for my actions. What does it mean to be
held “accountable”. When you hold or are held accountable you are “subject to
explanation”. You must therefore, explain your actions. If your only reason for
sinning is “the devil made me do it”, then you’re going to be in big
trouble.

In order to truly be held “accountable” you must be willing to
be honest and to also be responsible for your actions. You must be willing to
hold and be held accountable for those actions.

It may sound a bit scary.
It is extremely personal, but having a relationship with someone that you can
trust and who will hold you accountable is a great way to stop giving in to
those same temptations over and over again.

When looking for an
accountability partner it is important to look for someone who is:

It’s the Year of Thinking

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Tuesday's ThoughtsI’ll tell you, 2011 must be the year of thinking. Every time I turn around I’m thinking about something else I can do or should do to make things better. I’m not sure why that is, but I’m not going to stop what I’m doing because it seems to be working.

I love helping others and the majority of the time that’s what I keep thinking about. I think about the tasks I can add to my VA business to help my clients, I think about the articles I can write to help my readers with a problem or prevent something from happening, and I think about the ways I can grow WAHM-Articles.

One of the best things you can do when you’re thinking about things is to have input from others. While that will make you think even more, it’s good because it will help you to eliminate the things that you don’t need to be thinking about. So I would like to ask you all to tell me what you’d like to see on WAHM-Articles. What do you think needs to be changed or what do like and think should stay the same? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

My thoughts on Article Marketing

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

Tuesday's ThoughtsToday is Tuesday’s Thoughts and this is the first post I’ve made in this category. I have thought about this post for a while trying to come up with the right words to say. I’ll tell you at first it was not easy, but I’m sure as time goes on these will come easier to me.

Today I’ve been thinking about my writing. Article marketing is crucial for any business owner. The problem I have is when people don’t get it. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to explain to new business owners the value of article marketing and why they need to do it right from the beginning. The other thing I must explain is the reason why you must continue doing article marketing even if they feel it’s not working.

I love to write and I find it very relaxing plus I see the increase in my traffic. The increase has been wonderful and I know I’m building trust with my visitors. Just the thought of what the traffic is going to do is just amazing to me. I love the thought of people thinking about how I can help them grow their business.

What are your thoughts about article marketing? Please share your comments below.

Blessings,

How to Generate A Steady Stream of Traffic To Your Blog – Thursday’s Thoughts

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

In her last few posts, Alice Seba has been writing about the care and feeding of blogs.

I’ve been thinking a lot about blogging lately, partially because of Alice’s posts, and partially because I’ve been working with Lara Velez of Designed by Lara on some new designs for this blog and a few others. Hopefully I’ll be able to show you the new designs soon!

I’ve discovered that keeping up a blog is much easier when you love the look of your blog. I used one of Lara’s free templates for my faith/personal blog, and it’s so pretty I actually look forward to posting in it each day!

Apparently WAHM Articles author Mindy Benkert has been thinking about blogs too. Here’s her new article, 6 Free Ways To Generate A Steady Stream of Traffic To Your Blog.

6 Free Ways To Generate A Steady Stream of Traffic To Your Blog by Mindy Benkert

Blogs have become a world-wide phenomenon that has, literally, been turned into an art form. With programs like Blogger and WordPress, setting up your own blog is super easy, but getting traffic to it can be a little more difficult. However, there are a few things that you can do to get visitors to your blog.

Articles:

Since a blog revolves around content, it’s always a good idea to balance your more personal posts with informative articles. For example, if you have a personal blog focused on your weight lost journey, compose an article about the health benefits of living a healthier lifestyle, then post it on your blog and allow others to reprint it (with your resource box and link of course) to gain incoming links. Another bonus of articles is that they can work to bring you organic traffic and win you higher ratings in the search engines.

Fresh Content:

One of the most important things you can do to keep a steady flow of traffic going to your blog, is to update it on a regular basis. Ideally, it’s best if you update your blog at least 2 or 3 times a week, and even better if you can do it daily. There are a couple of advantages to this; one is that you will gain a following of readers who will continually return to your blog, and two is that you will be feeding the search engines, thus, maintaining your ranking.

Building Relationships:

Relationship building is a promotional method all its own, the simple reason being, is that by establishing yourself as an expert in the eyes of your readers, you will win their trust. The trust of your readers is a powerful tool, one that should not be taken advantage of. Your visitors go to you in search of answers to their questions, and they value your opinion and recommendations, which means that they are more likely to click your affiliate links and buy from you rather than the competition.

Blog Pinging:

This method can be used whenever you update your blog, and should become a part of your blogging routine. There are multiple ping directories. All you have to do is visit their website, type in the name of your blog and the URL, then hit ping. The purpose of pinging is that every time you do this, the directory will ping all of the blog directories in its listing to let them know that your blog
has been updated.

Feed Burner:

By installing a simple, and free, piece of HTML code onto your blog, your readers can subscribe and have new blog posts emailed to them. This is a great notification system, and will let your readers know that they can go to your blog to read new entries.

Blog Roll:

This is a very easy option to use, and is already built into WordPress. You simply add the URL’s you want, publish them to your site, and they will then show up under the heading “Blog Roll” on the side of your blog. The way to make this work for traffic is to treat it like a link exchange. Simply contact other blog owners and let them know that you have added their blog to your blog roll, and ask for a link in return.

Blog promotion can be done in the same way that you would advertise your website, and the free options are just as good, if not better, than paid. However, if you want to see results you will need to promote your blog on a regular basis, and understand that it will take time and effort to establish it.
