Have you Lost your Motivation?

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015

keyboard with -motivate- buttonMotivation is something we all need on a daily basis, but there are times when it can be lost. That can happen when you’re tired, lost, or frustrated and when those things happen in life, it’s hard to find a way to get the motivation back. During this time nothing gets done and we fall further and further behind on what we need to do at home and in our business.

Depending on the reason you lost your motivation, it may take a little while to get it back or it may come back right away. It will also depend on why you lost it as to what it will take to get it back. Some reasons, like a death in the family make it harder for it to come back then say a lack of sleep for a few days due to a sick child.

The best thing to do when you lose your motivation is to take a day or two to rest and to think about your life and what you strive to achieve. Sometimes taking this time is exactly what you need to get it back.

If, after a few days of relaxation, your motivation doesn’t come back, then it’s time to kick it in high gear and dig deep to find out what it will take to make it come back. Write down what’s on your mind and see if you can find out what’s on your mind. Take a walk along the beach or in your neighbor and think about what you want to achieve in the next few weeks and months.

When you’re done with your walk, sit down and write out all things you thought about while you were out. Think about the reasons you lost your motivation to begin with and see what you need to do to eliminate those and add your goals into your day.

Sometimes the reason we lose our motivation is because we are always on the go and we never take time for ourselves and sometimes the reason is because we’re tired of doing the same things day in and day out. When you know what these things are, then you can begin to make changes. Eliminate or begin to eliminate those things and start adding the things you want to do to each day. You’ll find when you work through these things, the motivation will come back and you’ll begin to enjoy life again.

Motivational Monday: Life

Monday, August 17th, 2015

A few years ago, while traveling, I found this in a store we stopped at to do some shopping. I liked what it said because creating ourselves is what we need to do in order to be who we want to be. If you try to find yourself, you may never find what you’re looking for because it hasn’t been created yet.

Guest Post – 7 Tips on Making Changes for a Healthier Lifestyle

Thursday, May 2nd, 2013

I’m somewhat of a health addict. I say somewhat because I don’t always make the best food choices. but I really do try. I’ve never had a weight problem, but I’m also a tad weight obsessed. Why? It’s probably because I know how accessible unhealthy foods are and the older I become, the easier I can gain weight. I’m a label reader; I’ve always been. It’s a great habit and one I’m not likely to break.

Naturally for me, the warmer the weather, the better food choices I make probably due to the fact of wanting to eat lighter meals with fresh fruits and raw vegetables and, of course, drinking loads of water.

With the warm weather on its way, here are seven tips on making better choices so you can look and feel good in your summer wardrobe. That’s an incentive on its own…wanting to look good in shorts, sleeveless tops, and bikini maybe…right?

1. When I go out to eat, my first choice is a salad with protein. What some people fail to understand is a salad is not necessarily healthier than a plate of fries because of the salad dressing and whatever ingredient is in there such as cheese, but there’s a work around to that and that’s making requests such as salad dressing on the side and opting out or substituting certain ingredients if possible. Don’t be shy; ask.

2. Not everyone can eat what they choose because of food allergies or whatnot, but the main thing is being fully aware of what you’re putting in your mouth. If you’re watching TV or reading a book, this could lead to mindless snacking. It’s okay if you’re eating grapes or cherry tomatoes, but it’s different if you’re munching on crackers. If you’re not eating it from a bowl, how many times have you put your hand in the box?

3. You can eat all the right foods, but you still have to exercise so kick start your metabolism and use your energy, not store it.

4. Don’t skip meals. Some people think if you skip a meal, you can eat more at the next meal. Yeah, you’ll definitely eat more to gain weight and you’ll make unhealthy choices because now your body is craving for food. Not only that, your blood sugar will drop and you’ll find the quickest thing to eat and you’ll eat lots of it.

5. Stock your fridge with fruits and vegetables for the reason to prevent what will happen when you skip a meal. If you don’t have junk food in your house, then you won’t make bad choices.

6. At the beginning, it will help to count calories. You can find a calorie counter online or you can go to MyFitnessPal.com to download the app to help you lose or maintain your ideal weight.

7. Grow your own vegetables and herbs. It’s never too late to make small changes and develop new healthy eating habits. You owe it to yourself and to your family to make better choices so you all can live and enjoy life to its fullest.

Are You Struggling to Find Motitvation?

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Motivation is something we all need, but at times struggle to find. I find at times it’s easier to watch TV or clean the house than it is to work my business. It’s not because I don’t like what I do, but rather the lack of motivation.

Finding motivation can be difficult if you don’t know where to look or what your motivation needs to be. Some people need help from others while other people can find motivation through quotes, emails, pictures, or simply remembering the reason they’re running a business. For me, it tends to be different based on the situation at the given time.

I have found for me each situation is different, but I’m coming to a point where I know what I need with each of those situations. Sometimes it’s as simple as looking at my to-do list and the motivation is found through the deadlines. Other times I need a little help with motivational quotes that inspire me to continue on each time. One last way I find motivation is to look at the reason I run my business. I look at my bills and what activities we have coming up that will require additional money.

Motivation is very important, no matter what you do. It helps you to get things done and you may find that motivation can help you take a leap of faith and do something you were scared to do before. The most important thing to do is find what motivates you and do what you can to continually have it in front of you.

Tips for Finding Motivation

Monday, March 11th, 2013

Motivation is needed at all times. It doesn’t matter if you need to find a way to continue to work your business or if you need to work out so you can lose weight or work on getting healthier motivation is what you need to make it happen.

There are many sites that offer motivational quotes or images to help you. The best way to find them is to do a Google search and then look through the sites to find one or more that offers what you’re looking for.

Once you find the motivation you need to do what you want to do it’s important to find a way to keep it. You’ll want to consider printing out the quotes and putting them in a place where you’ll see them, post them to Pinterest so you can go the board and read them at any time, or add them a file on your computer.

Motivation isn’t always easy to find, but it’s important to have no matter what you’re doing in your life. Find a way to use it to your advantage, because you’ll find when you do, success will always be yours to have.

February’s Almost Over… How are your Goals so Far this Year?

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

February is come and almost gone and March is fast approaching. Spring is in the air and I know if you’re like me, you’re ready for the seasons to change and the warmer weather to arrive. We’ve had a crazy winter season with snow and rain storms. I’m ready for the warm weather to come so we can go camping and fishing.

My son’s 17th birthday is later this week and while I’m excited for this year to come for him, I’m having some trouble with it at the same time. He’s days away from starting his final quarter of his junior year and that means his senior year is almost here. I’m really struggling with this, but it is what it is and I can’t stop him from growing up. LOL

As February comes to an end I have to wonder how everyone is doing with their goals for 2013. There are times when your goals may seem so far out of reach and other times you may wonder if you set goals that were too easy to achieve. One thing to remember is these are only goals. Life won’t end if you don’t achieve them. Struggling to reach your goals is hard, so if you find yourself in this situation, ask for help. Hire a Virtual Assistant to help or rethink your business and try to find ways to eliminate things that don’t need to be done within your business.

I hope you’re having a good year so far. Let us know in the comments how you’re doing and what you’re struggling with right now.

Guest Post – It’s All About YOU

Wednesday, January 30th, 2013

As humans we despise being wrong. Instead of accepting consequences for our actions, most of us are quick to place blame on someone else.

“It was his idea”
“She persuaded me”
“I didn’t know”

Bishop T.D Jakes preached a message titled, “The Blame Game.” The message was on point and spoke to each and every one of us. None of us is exempt from blaming others at one point or another in our lives.

When do we accept responsibility for ourselves?

We blame our childhood, our parents, our spouses and even our children for not being where we “should” be in life.

It’ All About YOU

When we grow up and realize that we control our today and our tomorrow, our excuses will shift from others to the man (or girl) in the mirror. It’s tough to do a self-examination and come face to face with your very own issues. Although it may be tough, it is necessary for growth.

This year make it your business to look within and right the wrongs that have surfaced over the years. This will be a process and it will not happen overnight. If it’s holding you back, fix it.

Once this is done, begin to develop you. It’s all about you this year. Not to be arrogant or vain but if you don’t fix yourself, you will be no good to others, let alone yourself. Be selfish and start with you.

If you need counseling, swallow your pride and get some counseling. Do it for you.

It’s all about YOU!

Guest Post – Just a Friendly Piece of Advice

Friday, October 26th, 2012

Every now and then, something happens to someone else that makes you realize that the things in your life aren’t quite as bad as you may have thought they were! Please allow me to explain:

On Tuesday of this week, I had client come in to pay her insurance. She told me that when she got to my office, she realized that the $40.00 she had saved for another bill had gone missing. That was that last amount of money she had until her next payday.

On Wednesday, I had another client come in to make a payment and make some changes to her policy. As we were talking, she told me that her son, who is 22 years old, was just diagnosed with cancer.

One thing that these two ladies have in common is that they both found the strength to put on a smile. I’m sure it was very hard for them to tell me about the things going on in their lives, but it got me thinking about the things going on in my own life. For instance, we got a snowstorm on Tuesday night. Wednesday, I went to work and told my co-worker that the snow “ruined my day”. I realized that it is ridiculous to be upset about something so petty!

So, here is my friendly piece of advice. Stop complaining about sitting in that traffic jam. Instead, be happy you have a reliable mode of transportation. Stop whining about the poor weather and be happy you have a warm home to go to at the end of the day. If you have a job outside of the home, don’t complain about how much you hate mornings. Instead, be happy you have a source of income. There are worse things you could be dealing with.

Guest Post – Don’t Abort the Promise

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

Have you ever sat back and pondered over where you are in life?

Most of us would say we should be a lot further than the current state we are in right now.

Have you asked yourself, “What happened?”

You started off really well and nothing could stop you. Plans and preparations were put in place that would deter you from failing. You declared and promised God that you were moving full speed ahead.

Then life happened.

Something caused you to stop. You took your eyes off the promise and focused on what was in plain sight. The expectation you had was so high, it seemed unreachable. You aborted the promise.

This happens every single day.

As women we have huge dreams for ourselves and our family. When things don’t line up the way we expect them to, we get discouraged. When the vision is not fully functional in the allotted time we’ve put in place, we pull back. We take our eyes off the promise and look at what’s in front of us.

We focus on the lack of finances, the child being disobedient, workplace issues , sickness or the lack of support from our loved ones. Those things are definitely road blocks, but in no way, shape or form should they cause you to abandon the mission. You can’t get so bombarded with what’s wrong, you lose sight of what’s right. If God called you to it, he will see you through it. Despite the obstacles, he’s got your back.

We serve a God that cannot lie and will never fail us.

Below are three tips to Begin Again.

• Pick the promise back up and start working it
• Find an accountability partner
• Do not compare your progress with others

He who started the work will be faithful to complete it.

Just keep working it!
