Monday, June 6th, 2011

There are times when you can’t seem to get to where you want to be with your business. It’s possible you don’t have the confidence you need to make it happen. Feeling this way is not good and it could prevent you from reaching success and growing your business.

When this happens you need to consider a coaching or mentoring program. If you’re like me you may be scared or worried about working through things that your mentor gives to you or you may not be sure if you could talk to someone or ask them for help.

One way to overcome that problem is to do group coaching. I found the perfect program that I’m sure you’ll find is perfect as well. It’s offered by Kathryn Bonner and it’s through the WPPI University. Her team offers four programs for you to choose from and they are below.

Heart to Heart Business Mentoring Banner

Today is Mentoring Monday and boy do I have a good one for you today. As Work at Home Mom’s we sometimes feel we can do it all. We think since we’re at home all day we can have a perfect home, work a business, and still be able to take care of the family. While the perfect home and taking care of the family come natural to us, working a business may not. That’s why it’s important to find a coach that will help you get through it all.

I found a wonderful mentor while searching through Work at Home Mom sites. The program I found is run by Tracey Del Camp and her business is called Heart to Heart Business Mentoring.

She only works with a specific group of people and if you don’t meet her qualifications you don’t get in to her program. This is really good for the ones that do qualify. She offers three different options so you’re bound to find a program that fits your needs.

Check out what Tracey has to offer when you click here to visit her site.

Mentoring Monday ButtonWelcome to another addition of Mentoring Monday. Today I’m going to share a business with you that’s awesome and one I think you’ll definitely want to check out. I know it’s one that I’m going to look into as I’ve been considering a mentor myself.

The mentoring option I’m talking about is from Nikki Brown. Nikki is a Christian Life Coach and she’ll help you get through any problem you encounter, any stressful situation, and any goal you want to set and pursue.

If you want inner peace, less chaos in your home, a healthier relationship with your family, and if you want to find more time to have fun with your family, you need to consider Nikki’s mentoring program. Her prices are reasonable and you will get a lot out of each session you have with her.

Mentoring Monday ButtonWhen you decide you need a mentor for your business, you need to find one that is right for you. You need to find someone that will help you with your needs and will be able to work with you the way you want to work.

For some people it’s important to find a person that fits your religious preference or maybe you work better with a man or a woman. These are important when it comes to finding the right mentor.

One of our very own authors runs a mentoring program and we want to highlight this program in today’s post. Here is all the information on this great program.

Successful Christian Women is a home business mentoring program that’s different than any other program around. She covers the business essentials but what she does do is use God’s Word because that’s the source of all the success we have in our business.

If you’re looking for a Christian mentor Jill Hart is the way to go. She is a Christian business woman and a wonderful mentor. She’ll help you pray over your business and she’ll praise you when you’ve been successful. Click here to see what Jill has to offer with the Successful Christian Women Mentoring Program.

What is a Mentor?

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Mentoring Monday ButtonA mentor is a person that gives you advice on your personal or business life. This person will make you see things in a different way. They will also encourage you to follow your dreams, goals, and maybe even step out of your comfort zone.

It’s a good idea to find a mentor that you will work well with and one you want have a problem hearing the truth from. You’ll also want to look for someone that will work in a way that is ideal for you.

When you are searching for a mentor it’s a good idea to consider several before you make your final decision. Ask around for suggestions from others that have used a mentor. The most important thing to remember is this person is out to help you achieve success. They don’t want to see you fail. When you’re successful so are they, so it’s just as important to them as it is to you.

Once you find the right person to be your mentor you can expect wonderful things. You should have high expectations from this person and you should see great things if you follow their guidance. If you have any concerns or problems along the way, it’s a good idea to discuss these with your mentor.

Blessings,

Promote Your Products with Articles

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

So, you’ve heard over and over again that you need to write articles to promote your business. You may have even gotten that message from me once or twice… ahem. 😉

But if you sell products instead of services, you might find that easier said than done. As one WAHM-Articles reader wrote me:

“I sell handmade purses. Seriously, how many articles can I write about how to choose the right purse?”

I see her point. And if you sell a product too, you just may be feeling her pain. But the good news is, you CAN write interesting, informative articles to promote your product.

The trick to writing articles that promote your products is to write about situations where your product is used. So, for my friend who makes the lovely purses, she might write about topics like these:

– How to accessorize for an evening out. Remember to add the perfect handbag!
– What to take for a day at the beach. Pack it all in a bag designed just for this.
– Freshen up your wardrobe for spring. Complete the look with a unique handbag.

Article marketing works as well for product sellers as it does for service providers. Just remember not to promote your product within the body of the article. Fill it with good information that will capture your reader’s interest. Then use your resource box to tell them about the product you sell and how they can buy it.

Are you still stuck for article ideas for your particular product? Go ahead and post a comment below, and I’ll try to help you out.

Creative Ways to Beat Writer’s Block

Monday, July 21st, 2008

Have you ever sat down to write your next article… and suddenly realized you can’t think of anything to say?

You may even have an outline in front of you, but you just can’t come up with the details to fill it in and make it sound just right.

If that sounds familiar, you’ve had a case of writer’s block. Whether you’re an experienced article writer, or just starting out, writer’s block can strike at any time. Worse, it can put a damper on your writing goals and deadlines.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been looking for ways to get more writing done in less time. One of the smartest things I’ve done so far is downloaded a copy of Writing Rituals by Nick Usborne. The five rituals he describes in his book have helped me to focus and beat my writer’s block.

Here are some more ideas of how you can get around writer’s block:

Talk to yourself. When I can‚Äôt find the words I’m looking for, sometimes it helps to just start talking out loud to myself about what I want to say in the article. When I get the words out, it makes it easier to think about my topic and what I want to say. You could write or type as you go so you don‚Äôt forget something really good.

You could also record yourself. Get one of those hand held recorders and just talk away. When you’re done, go back and transcribe what you said. This is another great way to get it all down and not lose any of the good stuff. Who knows, you may have more ideas pop in your head while you are transcribing.

Another strategy that works well is to brainstorm. Write down or type anything and everything that comes to mind regarding your topic. It doesn’t have to make sense at the time. Just put it down. When you do this other ideas may be triggered based on what you write down.

The next time you have trouble writing, try one of these tips, and see how quickly your writer’s block surrenders.

Write Where It Hurts – Mentoring Monday Courtesy of My Biggest Fan

Monday, April 7th, 2008

This week’s “Mentoring Monday” idea comes from my hubby, who inspires and encourages me in more ways than I can list. :)

This past week has been a stressful one for my family. You can read about it in my CWAHM blog (where CWHAM Jill Hart very graciously lets me blog.)

Anyways, DH and I frequently talk about working together someday, and with these crazy goings-on, we thought now might be a good time to seriously consider how that could work. In the next few weeks, DH will be joining me at the Virtual Assistant Resources blog.

I asked him what, exactly, he’ll be writing about. To tell you the truth, I expected him to just start writing, and not give it much thought.

“I have to do some research first,” he explained. “Before I write, I need to find out what your readers’ pain is.”

“Their, uh, pain?” I wonder if he’s been having a pain I should know about….

“Well, yeah. If I want them to read my articles, I have to give them information that will solve their problems. You know – their pain.”

Now I’m feeling like the idiot.

That man will make a great article marketer one day.

How to Add a Dash of Creativity to Your Articles – Mentoring Monday

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Writing an article doesn’t just mean translating your thoughts into words.

You have to capture the interest of your readers and get them to keep on reading.

To get your message across, you have to capture your reader’s attention, have a firm grasp of what their interests are, and pique their curiosity.

The main ingredient in baking up an article is a large dose of creativity.

While some people are naturally creative, others have to work harder at it. Many writers have literally torn their hair out when they get writer’s block and just can‚Äôt seem to get their creative juices flowing.

Putting words into images in the readers mind is an art. A clear and crisp depiction requires a certain flair that only creativity can provide. Similes and metaphors help a lot, but the way an article is built, word by word, sentence by sentence, then paragraph by paragraph into a whole article develops the essence of the article.

So what can you do when nothing comes to mind? There is no surefire way to get that “perfect” idea but there are easy ways to get your creative juices flowing.

1) Always keep a diary or a journal with you. New ideas can be triggered by anything you hear, see, or smell. Your senses are your radar for finding great ideas.

Write all your ideas in a journal and keep it with you for future reference. You may also write down anything that you have read or heard, someone’s ideas could be used to develop your own ideas. This is not stealing or plagiarizing.  Ideas can come from anywhere; it’s the development of the idea that makes it unique.

2) Relax and take time to sort things out. A jumbled mind can’t create any space for new ideas. You need to have a clear mind if you wish to have your creativity running at full speed. I seem to get my best ideas on the days I don’t work. I get my best ideas when I’m away from the computer and having fun with my kids.

Get rid of any obstacles that may be a hindrance to your creativity. If you are bothered by something, you cannot force your mind to stay focused.

Try to relax every time that you can and think about your experiences and interactions with others. Your experiences are what shape your mindset and your opinions which could be reflected on your writings. Try to discover yourself, find out what triggers your emotions. Discover what inspires you and what ticks you off. You can use these emotions to help you in expressing yourself and your ideas, with this you can grow creatively.

3) Create a working place that can inspire your creativeness. Your home office  can be a hindrance if it doesn’t make you feel happy or relaxed. Creativity comes from being in a good state of mind and a messed up workplace that causes distraction won’t be conducive in firing up your creative flow.

Surround your working place with objects that makes you happy and relaxed. You may put up pictures, or scents, objects that inspire, or anything that can get your creativeness cranking. A clean and well organized workplace also rids of distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a pleasant home office, you can work in peace and not notice the time pass by.

4) Set the mood. Setting the mood requires you to just go with the moment or to induce your self to feeling what makes your mind works best. Finding out what makes you tick could help you find ways to get your creative juices flowing. Set the pace and tempo for your mood and everything else will follow.

There are many ways to set the mood. Some writers have been known to use alcohol, a little sip of wine to stir up the imagination. Some prefer mood music while others let the lighting of the environment create the mood.

When I sit down to write, I turn off the bright light in my office, and light a few candles instead. I instantly feel more relaxed.

5) Go on a getaway and just do something unlike crazy. Letting yourself go and have fun produces adrenaline that can make your imagination go wild. Take an adventure or a solemn hike. Whatever it is that is unusual from your daily routine can take the rut out of your schedule. In no time at all, your creativeness will make use of that experience and get your imagination to go on overdrive.
