6 Topics You Shouldn’t Discuss Online
Wednesday, October 10th, 2012The internet is a great thing when it comes to reaching out to people outside of your community, but it’s also important to remember what you say will reach the masses quickly and easily. It doesn’t matter how many people see what you say, word of mouth will carry it even further.
When you use Facebook or Twitter to promote your business, people see what you say. When you have customers or potential customers that follow you, they watch and read what you post and that can be a good thing or it can be detrimental to your business. Here are a few things to think about when you’re posting on the web.
1. Remember who follows you and don’t say anything you may regret later.
2. Think about the topics you discuss online because you may offend someone if you say the wrong thing.
3. Don’t talk politics unless your business is political.
4. Don’t tell your life history.
5. Don’t talk about your medical history online.
6. Don’t talk about your health.
It’s crucial when you market a business online to be careful what you say. Offending a customer may mean the end of your relationship with them and that could ruin your business. While we all know we have the freedom to speak about anything we want, if you choose to talk about the wrong thing it could hurt someone’s feelings or it could make them angry enough to stop working with you.
