Growing your Business while the Children are Home

Spending time with our family is one of the main reasons why we chose to stay at home. They are the most important things in our lives and everything we do is for them in one way or another.

We plan our work so we’re completed with it by the time they get home from school and if we do have to work while they’re home we do our best to make it as little as possible or we work it around their schedule so maybe they are in bed or working on homework. No matter how you look at it we do what we do for them.

What do you do when they have a day off. For example, my boys are home today because it’s the end of the first quarter at school and they are having parent-teacher conferences. Days off from school could also be for a holiday, a break, or summer. How do you handle your business when a day like this comes along?

When you’re prepared for your children to be home it’s a lot better. But there are always those times when it’s not expected and that would include being sick or one of those parent-teacher conference days. There are a number of ways to handle your business when you’re children are home and it’s not a routine or it’s unexpected.

One of the best things to do is have a plan in place that can be implemented within a seconds notice. This is very valuable when you forget about a day off or something like a sick day or a snow day occurs. This plan will be age appropriate and specific to your children as it will include things they like to do.

A plan is the best way to have the least amount of problems and still give you the ability to work your business and meet your deadlines. When you have this plan you’ll be able to continue with your day and grow your business just as you would if they were in school.
