Guest Post – Want to work from home online? Start here!
It sounds great, right? Well, it is! But like anything worthwhile, it takes a lot of effort and a little help.
You’ve read about many online work opportunities here at WAHM Articles. If you are thinking about giving it a try, then there are some prerequisites.
What I have seen in my experience as a virtual corporate trainer is that while most people can use a computer, they have no idea how it works, how to maintain it, how to keep it secure, and how to upgrade it, among other things. Yet without these skills you are starting out at a disadvantage.
Most companies and online opportunities have minimum technology requirements and expectations. If you are an independent contractor you will be responsible for your own computer and Internet connection. If something goes wrong with your computer, you are effectively out of work.
In an online training environment, you are there to learn the job, but the expectation will be that you resolve your own tech issues and are proficient in navigation. If your computer is too slow, or you don’t know what the trainer means by “Make sure you do not have any 3rd party toolbars installed”, then make sure to address these things before you embark on your new journey.
Then go forth, and conquer!

With setup your work from home business, the cost of buying and maintaining a computer is crucial, but don’t forget the cost of software like MS office and the like. You can get free version like MS Office and is compatible with office, it’s called open office. One way to keep costs down.
