Motivating Your Mind and Body

How do you motivate yourself each day to start working? Is it jumping into the shower for a quick start-me-up? Perhaps it’s the aroma of the timed coffee maker percolating your morning java. Personally, none of those stimulate me in the morning simply because I don’t drink coffee and it’s too cold to strip down naked for a two minute shower when I do a five minute very warm shower at night.

So what do I do to get myself up and going in the morning? Chew two tablets of vitamin C, take an antihistamine pill, eat a cup of yogurt and then don on my runners and drag my mat to the front of the TV. Pop in my three mile “Walk Away The Pounds” DVD by Leslie Sansone and start my in-home walking program.

There’s nothing better than working up a sweat, loosening up your muscles, getting all energized and getting your heartbeat racing. It’s exhilarating, not exhausting. It’s refreshing, not mind-boggling. It wakes up more than your senses…it makes you feel ALIVE! You get the sense of being able to take on whatever comes your way and you’re ready to tackle anything head on.

It just takes 30 minutes a day to reduce stress, to motivate your mind and body and set you up for a productive work day.

Now you can go grab that cup of java, while I make myself a smoothie.

Have a productive day!

I really enjoy Leslie Sansone’s “Walk Away the Pounds” DVDs. I’m still working up to the three mile walk, though. I feel great after the workout though!

I totally agree with this. I started working out 3 years ago (when I was 39 years old). I wanted to stay healthy, but losing weight was an extra benefit. Plus 30 minutes of running on a treadmill gets my mind working and my creativity flowing.

    Denise,

I like the variety Leslie provides in her workouts whether it’s the 3 mile, 4 or 5 mile walks. As long as you’re moving and following the best you can, there’s no wrong or right and if you feel great after then you have done your job for the day. :)

    Lori,

Thanks for dropping by and commenting. I agree. It frees your mind of “‘clutter” and let’s your creative juices flow.
