Find Your Perfect Business

Friday, July 25th, 2008

It’s Free Book Friday, and the book I have for you today is 100% free to download. You’ll just need to give your email address.

WAHM Articles author Mindy Benkert has put together an e-book called The Complete Step By Step Guide to Finding Your Perfect & Profitable Business.

If you’re looking for the right business to start, you probably have a lot of questions. For example, is direct sales the way you want to go? Can you really make money with affiliate marketing? Or do you have what it takes to be a freelancer?

In this book, you’ll find the answers to those questions (and more) and you’ll discover how to choose the perfect business for you.

You can get your copy here.

If you’re a WAHM Articles author who has written a free book (or even one that’s not so free), you’re welcome to post a comment and a link to it below. Each Friday I try to write a post about an e-book written by one of our authors.

The Free Book You Need to Write

Friday, July 4th, 2008

It’s Free Book Friday, but this week, instead of telling you about another free book you should read, I want to tell you about the free book you need to WRITE!

When I talk to online business owners about their traffic and sales, a lot of them seem to think a new visitor will become a customer the first time they click through to the sales page,. But – unfortunately for them – that’s usually not the case. More often, a new visitor will need to visit you or hear from you several times before they’re ready to make that first purchase.

One way to help build that relationship, and keep that new visitor coming back, is by offering a first-timer a free ebook or report in exchange for their email address.

While most first-time visitors won‚Äôt buy from you immediately, there’s a good chance they will leave you their email address in exchange for a report or ebook. Then you can follow up with them and let them know about your products and services, and new additions to your site.

For this strategy to work well, it’s vital that you understand what is valuable to your target market. Do your research and offer a freebie they can’t refuse.

If you don’t like to write, or dont have the time to create a free product to give away, consider outsourcing your content to a ghostwriter. WAHM Articles offers a writing service that creates WAHM ebooks and content for you Рfrom start to finish.

Here’s the link to our ghostwriting services and testimonials from some of our clients.

How to Be a Six Figure WAHM – Free Book Friday

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Each Friday I try to share a free (or a not so free) book written by one of the WAHM Articles authors. The one I have to tell you about this week is pretty exciting – How to Reach 6 Figure Success in Your Home-Based Business by WAHM Articles author Debbie LaChusa.

Probably like most of you, I’ve read a lot of things about how to make 6 figures a year from home. Some of what I’ve read doesn’t seem ethical, and sometimes borders on illegal. Other stuff I’ve found has been all hype – believe you can do it and you will! But it doesn’t tell you exactly how.

What I appreciated most about Debbie’s book is that it explains the steps to follow to 6 figures (they’re legal, ethical AND doable) and she also covers:

  • how to find out if your current business can get you to 6 figures
  • what changes you can make to reach 6 figures
  • what to do if your current business can’t get you to 6 figures

There’s also a free audio class to listen to after you read the book.

Encouraging Words – Free Book Friday

Friday, June 13th, 2008

WAHM Articles author Judy H. Wright told me about a free ebook she has written, that I can share with you.

It’s called Use Encouraging Words to Motivate Positive Action. Based on the Law of Attraction, it talks about how to communicate effectively and encourage others, through what we do, what we say, and how we say it.

This 25 page ebook is filled with practical tips and real-life examples, but my personal favorite is on page 24 – “At least 101 other words and phrases to encourage positive action.” That one is going on my fridge as a reminder to everyone in my family – but especially ME – of words we can use to encourage each other.

Here’s the link to get your own copy.

If you like this book, Judy has many more of her books available at her online store.

A Free eCourse to Help You Write That Book

Friday, June 6th, 2008

Have you ever wanted to write a book, fiction or non-fiction, but you just couldn’t get it started…

… or didn’t have the time

… or couldn’t think of a plot

… or had writer’s block

… or didn’t think you had anything important to say

… or didn’t think you had the writing talent

… or had something else that was stopping you?

I’ve just discovered a web site that is specially designed to help you write your book faster than you ever thought possible. In fact, there’s information here that will lead you to write your book in 14 days!!

I know that seems hard to believe, but when Mark Victor Hansen (co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul and dozens of other books) saw this information, he not only said it was some of the best stuff he’d ever used, he even asked the owner of the website to speak at his next seminar! And Mark is using this information to crank out still more books!

This stuff is so powerful, that folks all around the world, even absolute novices, are using these techniques to write books faster than they ever thought possible. There’s even a free email course that gets you started FAST!

So if writing a book has always been your goal, your dream, your desire, you’ll want to get yourself over to www.WriteABookNow.com .

I should warn you the site takes a little longer to load than I would like, but it’s definitely worth the wait.

What You Need to Know to Market to Moms

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

This Free Book Friday is not so free (unless you pick up a copy from your local library, like I did) but it is a must-read for everyone who markets to moms. Hint: If you’re writing WAHM articles, that would be you.

The book I’m talking about is Trillion Dollar Moms – Marketing to a New Generation of Mothers by Maria Bailey and Bonnie Ulman.

Moms are the most powerful consumers in the US – in fact, recent surveys show moms are spending more than $17 trillion annually. This book shows entrepreneurs how they can get in on this lucrative market. (If you own a home business, that’s you again.)

The authors draw on proprietary research, their own insights, and case studies to show us marketers how to promote our products effectively to moms.

For example, did you know that when you market to moms, you should plan your campaigns around the ages of their children, NOT the ages of the mothers?

That makes complete sense to me. Since becoming a mom, my choices and decisions have been majorly influenced by which stage my children are in. But ask me how that knowledge should affect my marketing, and I couldn’t tell ya.

Not to worry, Maria and Bonnie explain how to apply their insights and research to your own marketing campaigns. Here’s the link again.

Friday, May 16th, 2008

  • and a myriad of other reasons!

Writing Your 30 Second Intro – Free Book Friday

Friday, April 11th, 2008

In my daughter’s Sunday School class last week, the teacher asked each student what their parents did for a living. I was curious how Cassidy had described the work I do.

“I told him you’re a VA and a WAHM,” she said. (She pronounces WAHM “Wahm!” – very enthusiastically, like a door slamming in your face.)

“Oh, and what did he say?” I cringe. I’m scared to even imagine what her teacher must have thought.

“He said, “That’s interesting,” and asked the next kid what his mom did.”

Really, what else could he have done?

It might make a cute story, but I definitely won’t use Cassidy’s description when people ask me what I do.

Thankfully, WAHM Articles author Cristina Favreau has written a free guidebook, called Designing a Compelling 30-second Intro. Cristina will help you create a 30-second intro that answers the “So what do you do?” question and tells your audience how you can help solve their problems.

You can get your own copy of Designing a Compelling 30-second Intro by clicking here.

Free Organization & Cleaning Tips – Free Book Friday (sort of!)

Friday, April 4th, 2008

This morning I was visiting some of the WAHM Articles authors’ websites to find a freebie to share with you.

The one I want to tell you about today isn’t a book EXACTLY, but it is free, and it looks to be a really good read.

Jan Hayner, Professional Organizer and WAHM Articles author, tells how to organize your life the easy way with three free pamphlets about organization. Just fill in Jan’s order form to receive one, or all three.¬† It looks like this offer is only available in the United States, so I’ll have to miss out this time. :(

Jan has also written some fabulous WAHM Articles about organization and why your kids are better at organizing than you are!
