I have no website traffic secrets. Now, where have I heard that before in my work at home travels? Ahh yes, I remember it well. A dear friend of mine told me this when I had asked her what website traffic secrets she harbored. While I knew she would never lie to me, still I wondered exactly what she meant, and felt the need to discuss this more. There was much more to her answer to me than, "I have no website traffic secrets." After a brief explanation, it was simple, however, the work is certainly not; consistent hard work while adding content to your site tailored to your audience on a daily basis. This is what it takes to yield repetitive traffic and true work at home success. What I'm referring to is "content." And lots of it! If you've competed in the marketing industry for any length of time and you own a website, then you are well aware of what I'm talking about. You've heard the phrase "content is king?" Well it truly is when it comes to website traffic. The more content you add, the higher your site will rank with search engines. Keep reading for more details below. Newbie Marketer - Newbie Website If you're still in the thinking stages of creating a website to make money, then you need to first think of what your target market will be. In retrospect, what type of audience are you creating your website for? Who will be visiting your site? If your site is work at home related, you would need to add pages, ad copy, articles, newsletters, and the like that relate to work at home. Add daily work at home information and resources that your readers will benefit from and obtain answers to their inquiries and also solutions to their problems and concerns. You would be offering invaluable content that would make them visit over and over again. Performing continuous searches can help you considerably with this. Unless you are the king of experts in your field. Although, nobody knows every single thing about marketing a website. However, while we all would like to think of ourselves in this way, there is always something more to learn. The same goes for whatever your site will be about. If it's about health and wellness, you will need to add content relating to health, wellness, food, and recipes. If your site will be about home and garden, then tailor your site to house cleaning articles and tips and gardening. Below are 6 tips to adding consistent content to a website * Add More Pages - Get yourself in the habit of thinking of more pages of information you can be adding to your website. Brainstorm on various perspectives of your current pages and add accordingly. * Article Ideas- Always be looking for these! Be forever on a quest to find all the article ideas you can that your masterpiece website will benefit from. Write articles daily. If you have to tape a piece of paper on your forehead to remind yourself to write articles, then do it! * Be Mindful Of What Your Competitors Are Doing- Do I mean spy on your competitors? Well, in a way, yes. You need to know what they are doing, and then strive to do things better, or at the very least...do the best you can. Be observant of how they conduct themselves on the various social media sites and through email. Also do we have to compete with our business associates with anger, jealousy, and disrespect? No. In fact, competitors can be exceptionally good friends with one another. Is this a good thing? Think of it this way; It takes a lot less energy to be friends and civil than to be otherwise. * Write An Ebook Or Ecourse - You can share a lot of impertinent information through an eBook or eCourse. If you have a collection of informative articles or "how to" tutorials, collecting dust on your computer, put them to good use and get busy and write yourself an eBook. You can sell them or offer them as freebies on your site. If you don't feel you are tech savvy enough, or you simply don't have the time, you can hire someone to help. And guess what? There's no shame in doing that. We all have to learn in one way or another. * Add a Newsletter - Over time we can accumulate a considerable amount of contacts/emails to warrant the tasks of creating a newsletter. They sky is the limit as to what you include in that newsletter. You can share private sales to subscribers only, some good marketing tips, recipes, or anything else that will benefit your readers. * Start a Poll - Start a poll of questions for your readers as to what else they'd like to see on your site. You could also email or include this poll in a newsletter. Hopefully the information above will answer all the questions you've had about website traffic secrets. It takes work in order to make it in the work at home industry. Just like a brick and mortar job, you work hard for your income.
