If you enter giveaways, contests, and sweepstakes very often you are bound to win something you don’t really want or have a need for. You may have thought you wanted it but after you got it, decided it wasn’t exactly what you were looking for. Below are four ways to for you to reuse your giveaway winnings.

1. Presents & Gifts

Give your prize as a birthday present. If you enter a lot of children or baby giveaways and win them, instead of giving them to your child immediately, save them as a birthday present. The hardest part of this idea is keeping my children from finding the packages.

Use your prizes as Christmas gifts. Christmas gifts can range from simple to complex and depending on the giveaways you are winning many of them would make great Christmas gifts.

2. Donate to Charities, Shelters, and People In Need

Charities and shelters are always in need of items. If you win a children’s game you could donate it to a children’s foster group, an orphanage, or your local hospital for use in the pediatric unit. Not only are you putting the prize to good use but you are also filling a need.

3. Libraries

Did you win a book from a giveaway? After you are done reading the book you can donate it to your local library. If it is a children’s book you could even donate it to your local school.

4. Host your own giveaway

If you have your own blog you can host your own giveaway for the unwanted prize. This is a great way to reuse your prize as well as driving some traffic to your site. The only draw back to this option is that you must pay any shipping charges.

There are literally hundreds of ways you could reuse giveaway winnings and these are just a few. I have entered giveaways knowing I would donate the prize to a support group if I won or use it as a gift. The possibilities are endless. Start entering giveaway and you could help met some unknown need.
