While it is important to have a well balanced, easy to navigate website/blog the questions remains does it stand out from the crowd? Noticing a growing trend of magazine style work at home mom blogs, often using the exact same template, with little modification to distinguish one from another so visiting can become a tedious experience. Is using a magazine style blog template a bad choice? Absolutely not! However, modifying it to be your own more than just a cool header graphic is a must. Here are some examples of websites that express which are also magazine style templates that totally grasp the person’s personality. Brandy Tanner’s WAHM blog HappilyBlended.com screams vibrant yet a peaceful personality. To get to know here this is so true. By mixing her personality into her blog, I honestly believe that is what brings me back to her site to read her post appose to in a reader. Dwan’s WAHM blog MommaDjane.com seeps sweet down home but bubbly personality. Following her tweets on twitter as well as interacting with her there, you bet her blog nails who she is! Both these websites each use one of the popular magazine styles but you wouldn’t be able to notice it until you scrolled to the bottom. They were heavily modified to fit them! They mixed going with the flow and their own personalities to produce and amazing blog website people are sure to visit time and again. It is not unusual to want to go with the flow and follow what is popular even when it doesn’t always fit with us. EccetricWAHM.com, my WAHM blog is not a magazine style, although it did start as one, but it is now me, it still is professional yet it expresses my style. Realizing I needed to show me in my blog has boosted not only visits but my confidence in what I write about! Sure there are articles out there stating this is what you should be doing now; some say clean sleek and professional and others say fun colorful free and just be yourself. When I see two side of a large spectrum like that I know the best answer is somewhere in-between. Take a look at your site, look at those around you; do you stand out on your own? If it does not it should!
