Is Your Home Business A Top Priority In Your Life?

By: Shelly Hill

As a long-time Direct Sales consultant and a work from home mom, my business has always been a top priority in my life.

You will meet a lot of sales consultants who state that their family comes first and that is fine and dandy, but where does their home business fit into that? Yes, a family does come first...but your business needs to be a top priority too.

As a team manager, I often see people join a Direct Sales business but yet, they don't work it like they should. What do I mean? They will only work on their home business around family obligations or whenever they feel like it. Personally, I feel this is the wrong approach to have.

To have a successful home business, you need to work on your business consistently and you need to set up a work schedule. This schedule should be a few hours a day, several days a week. You will need to stick to this schedule and plan some of your family obligations around your work schedule.

Look at it this way, if you worked out of your home for XYZ company, you would be given a schedule of when to report to work. You would put in your hours and go home. Your family activities would be scheduled around your work schedule. This same principle needs to be applied to a work at home business.

If you talk to the leaders in the Direct Sales industry, they would tell you that they work on their businesses consistently. You will need to do the same thing if you hope to build a successful home business.
