How to Do Custom Letterhead Printing

By: Kaye Z. Marks

If you are starting your own business, you may want to work on your letterheads, presentation folders, and envelopes. These are among other materials that you use when dealing with other businesses.

You can also use these when communicating with associates or dealing with your employees. Letterheads, which you will use when sending official correspondences, are important. These are not just needed elements for letters, memorandums, notices, or correspondences. There are also other benefits that it offer.

These can improve your business image, set your business presence, and enhance your corporate identity. You may notice that corporations, big and small, send out official correspondences with letterheads. That is because it has an influence over the receiver; you may not notice it, but there are always non-verbal hints that letterheads invoke. These can increase the significance and urgency of the letter, even if the content does not convey those message.

If you are planning already to create, let us help you out in the process. Making custom letterheads can be easy. Although challenging, the whole process can be a breeze. So, here are the guidelines on custom letterhead printing.

• Do not forget to include the necessary information
By necessary information, we mean company or business name and contact information, such as phone and fax numbers. You can also include email address as well as website. Aside from that, do not forget to put the logo which fosters brand recognition and heightens your business image. You may also opt to include your company motto or business slogan to send the message that you are one company that offers quality and service.

• Make wise use of colors and other design elements
In making a letterhead, you do not have to do it monochrome. Part of its appeal is the colors used. You can make use of the company or business colors to be consistent with the design. You can also play with font style and size. Experiment of different designs and once you have limited them to four or five, show it to your employees or associates. Let them have a say on the design of the letterheads that they will use for a long time.

• Extend the whole header to maximize use of space
Your letterhead does not need to be small. In fact, you can use the whole header for your letterhead. Keeping in mind the design, play with how you will put the letterhead on the topmost part of your letter. You can align it on the left, right or center – it all depends on the overall appearance. Do not be afraid to experiment.

Making can be easy. You just need to log on to your desktop computer, open Microsoft Publisher, and create a new document. You need not to be a designer to make one. You can use your own design skills!
