You have your darling new baby and now it’s time to take her out on the town. You even have a stylish new diaper bag. But what on earth do you put in it? Many times I’ve walked out the door missing a key ingredient in my baby’s diaper bag because I was unprepared. Make sure this catastrophe never happens to you. It is kind of earth shattering. So what key items do you put in that, oh so chic, diaper bag? Well here is my top 10 list of diaper bag must haves and why. 1. Extra Diapers: No brainer here. You will need these. Whether disposable or cloth. My number is three. In case you there is an accident (of the diaper kind) or you are just out longer than normal. 2. Diaper wipes: Again disposable or cloth; your choice but don’t take a brand new 180 count case. Once you have your wiping method down you only need 1 to 3 to change a diaper so take about 10 to be on the safe side. 3. Changing pad: They make these disposable too but if you have to change in a public bathroom you will be so glad you have this! 4. Change of clothes: Again for baby accidents (of the food or diaper kind) or maybe little Charlie just needs an extra layer. This is to be on the safe side. 5. Food: If you breastfeed you have it! If not baby bottle and correct amount of formula unmixed until it’s time to eat. If your baby is particular about having it warmed then get a travel bottle warmer but this is not on the top ten list. 6. Burp cloth: This is for you mom. Protect your clothing from accidental spit ups and diaper accidents. 7. Blanket: For warmth. Covering whilst being fed. Etc. 8. Toy for entertainment: What you bring is depending on the age of the child. From exciting teething ring to padded book. You choose the best travel toy for your child. 9. Hand wipes: Just in case it’s feeding time and you have no bathroom nearby to assure cleanliness at the table. 10. Small container of some generic cream of some sort that can double as diaper cream and hand cream. Vaseline, Aquaphor, and Eucerin are good.
