Are you worried about your finances?

By: Corrie Petersen

If you are a work at home mom, you probably find yourself worrying about your finances quite often. When you are unsure of your income from month to month, this can add stress to your life. You know home is where you want to be and you know being your own boss is your dream, but worrying about the money was never supposed to be a part of the big picture.

There are many ways you can save money so you can live your life without stress. It honestly depends on you and your family and what you are willing to sacrifice or give up to be able to continue to stay at home.

As moms, we know how to stretch our dollar as far as possible. For some this may come very easily, but it may be really hard for others in the beginning. There are many things you can do to make this dream of yours continue.

Being a frugal mom is the way to go. This article will give you some tips and tricks that will help you stretch your dollar and make it go a long ways.

• Phone

For some, a landline is a must. That may be the only way you will have an internet connection. If this is the case, think about your cell phone. Do you really need one? Is it possible for your husband to have one and that’s it? If you spend your days at home and your evenings and weekends with your husband, what is the point in paying for the service?

Another thing you need to do is talk to your phone company to see what features you can eliminate to save you money. There is no point in paying for those features that you are not using.

If you don’t go through your phone company for internet service, you might consider eliminating your landline all together and use your cell phone. With cell phone plans that cover roaming and long distance, it may be worth your time to investigate and see if you could save yourself the money and get rid of it.

• Cable

Call your cable or satellite company to see if there is a way to go to the next lower package and spend less money. You might also see if they have a newer package that is cheaper that will still give you the channels you like to watch.

If you find yourself not watching TV, but more movies, you might consider getting rid of your cable or satellite all together. Why pay for something you don’t use that often. You may be able to purchase an antenna and get the local channels which may be more than enough for your family.

You should also ask about bundling your TV, phone, and internet all together. A lot of the cable companies are adding phone and internet to their packages so they can save their customers money by getting more of their business.

When it comes right down to it, you should really look at your options when it comes to your phone and cable services. You may be able to save yourself a lot of money if you lower your packages, stop paying for services you don’t use, or eliminate them all together. This will help alleviate some of the stress you may have when it comes to your finances. Take the time to check on these today so you can start saving tomorrow.
