Don’t Be Afraid to Introduce Yourself
One of my dreams is to get my manuscript published.¬† It’s called Losing Weight After Baby: 31 Days to a New You.¬† I know the audience is there – what new mom doesn’t want encouragement to shed a few pounds?¬† But as a first time author, it¬†seems it would take a¬†miracle to get published traditionally.¬†
A few months ago, I was at a moms event and I heard a well known speaker who has published over 25 books.  Oh what I would do to meet her and get her advice!  So, I figured, I have nothing to lose if I just ask.  I introduced myself and talked about my book idea, and to my delight and surprise, she was interested!  And not only was she interested, she was willing to help me further with my proposal and has become a mentor in my life.
Ladies, don’t be afraid to approach someone who is ahead of you in life¬†and ask for his or her help.¬† The worst thing that will happen is he or she will say no.¬† But isn’t the alternative exciting?¬† The person you look up to in business just might be happy to help you!

Wow, Arlene, what a blessing! I’ve always said that the worst someone can say is “no.”
Good for you!

Arlene,
Wow, that is wonderful. Having a mentor who we look up to is very motivating. Good luck with the book.
