What’s New in the Direct Sales Industry?

Most business owners in Direct Sales can tell you one of the biggest problems in the industry is marketing. Many DS companies will have a product, a compensation plan, and even a presentation. They package this nicely as a ready-made business. The only thing a prospective business owner has to add is the marketing. All you have to do is tell everyone you know about what you do, and voila! You’re in business. It may sound simple, but the average new business owner often isn’t experienced in advertising and marketing. They rely on the ideas and guidance of their sponsors who also may not have had any previous experience. It’s harder than it looks. After all, entire college courses and even majors are centered on marketing. Many, many articles have been written on how to bring in new business. But how are new companies addressing this issue? Are companies coming up with new advertising methods? Is anyone trying to make this part of running a business any easier for the individual business owner?
